Just a little pre-Halloween fun: A Samurai Champloo themed Jack-o-lantern.
I carved this pumpkin yesterday, and I really should have taken a picture then... In just a little over a day my pumpkin has suffered from some serious shrivel-age. The detail from Mugen's spikey hair has disappeared and mnay things have started to droop. Ah well, it was fun, and my first try at shading by only carving away part of the pumpkin skin and flesh. I will probably be trying again, with another samurai champloo design before Halloween, and probably on a bigger pumpkin. This design is just under 5 inches tall.
Anyone have any ideas as to how to stop pumpkin shrival???
Wow I beat that was the coolest pumpkin out on the streets on halloween. ~tips over~ hehe If I had talents like that I'd probably make a Puni Puni Poemy one

How to keep a pumpkin from shriveling ... hmm? I'm reminded of an episode of Yakitate Japan, actually. Episodes 16 and 17, where in Azuma bakes a green turtle sweet bread, utilizing the moisture locking properties of ... Starch Syrup! I wonder if it would work here. Other then that, I can only suggest making the lines or bits of pumpkin thicker. jaa, mata! Drat, there is no :disco: on DA.
